The Patient Care Device domain (PCD) of Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) promotes device related interoperable communications based upon existing standards. This voluntary effort by users and vendors addresses systems where one end of the communication is a regulated medical device. The PCD domain is sponsored by AAMI, ACCE, and HIMSS.
